Conjugation

The present active indicative voice was defective during the Classical period, only having synthetic forms in the first-person singular, first-person plural and third-person plural; the second-person singular, third-person singular and second-person plural were expressed by n with forms of volō. Old Latin had a second-person singular nevīs as an alternative to n vīs and a third-person singular nevolt as an alternative to n volt; in addition, a contracted second-person plural ltis is attributed by Diomedes to the Old Latin author Caecilius Statius. No contracted forms of nevīs or nevolt are attested.

Old Latin.
