Roel van Velzen (born March 20, 1978), better known as VanVelzen, is a Dutch singer-songwriter. He debuted in 2006 with the release of his single "Baby Get Higher", which became a huge airplay hit within the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. His next single "Burn", released 2007, peaked at #7 in the Dutch Top 40. In March 2007, VanVelzen released his debut album Unwind, which debuted at #1 in the Dutch album charts and sold over 60,000 copies. Besides being known for his short statue, he and his band enjoy a huge live-reputation; they played at vertually every festival in the Netherlands, shared the stage with Queen's Brian May, and supported Kelly Clarkson, Bon Jovi and German magastars Reamonn.
