Contraction of got + to.
gotta (third-person singular simple present gotta, no present participle, simple past had to, no past participle)
Some speakers may require a preceding auxiliary has (or its contracted form, 's) for the third-person singular conjugations only. For example: I gotta, but she's gotta. In more careful or emphatic speech this auxiliary is more often included: you have gotta.
