draught excluder (plural draught excluders)

1. A flexible strip attached to the bottom or side of a door to prevent draughts entering through the gap.
   • 1954 February, “Third Class Corridor Brake Coaches for British Railways”, in Railway Magazine, pages 132-133:

     The sliding door, which is fitted with a drop light, is shrouded with bristle-type draught excluders.

   • 1959 December, “New TPOs for the Western Region”, in Trains Illustrated, page 581:

     Each coach is insulated by a four-inch thickness of fibreglass and heated by two overhead 2 in. steam pipes, while all external doors close into rubber draught excluders.

2. Any other object used to prevent draughts, such as a chimney balloon.
3. (soccer, colloquial) A player deployed to lie behind the defensive wall at a free kick, to prevent a low shot going under the jumping wall.
