Stan Roto Walker (born 23 October 1990), is a New Zealand recording artist and actor. Born in Melbourne, Australia, Walker auditioned for the seventh season of Australian Idol in 2009, and became the winner. After Idol he subsequently signed a recording contract with Sony Music Australia, and released his debut studio album, Introducing... Stan Walker, shortly after. The album debuted at number three on the ARIA Albums Chart, and certified platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). Its lead single, "Black Box", reached number-one in New Zealand. In 2010, Walker released his second studio album, From the Inside Out, which also reached number-one in New Zealand, and number-two in Australia. The album produced two successful singles, "Unbroken" and "Choose You". Later that year, Walker won four New Zealand Music Awards, including the "International Achievement Award".
