Nepenthe (Ancient Greek: Νηπενθές; pronounced /nɪˈpenθi/) is a medicine for sorrow, literally an anti-depressant – a "drug of forgetfulness" mentioned in ancient Greek literature and Greek mythology, depicted as originating in Egypt.
