Dev (Bengali: দেব) is a popular Bengali film actor. His original name is Deepak Adhikari.He was born in 'Mahisha' a small village near Keshpur, West Midnapur, West Bengal. He spent his childhood in Chandrakona at his maternal uncle's place.After finishing his primary education, he returned to Mumbai to his parents before coming back and settling down in Kolkata. His debut film was "Agnisapath", which did not run well at box-office. Later, he changed his name to 'Dev' and tried his luck again in the film industry. His first film as Dev 'I Love You'(2007),directed by Ravi Kinnagi, made him popular. It was one of the biggest hit in Bengali Film Industry in that year.
