ascription (usually uncountable, plural ascriptions)

1. The act, or an instance, of ascribing a quality, characteristic, quotation, artistic work, or other thing to someone or something.

   • 2001, David L. Lieber, Jules Harlow, Etz Hayim: Torah and Commentary:
