A collection of files and folders (sometimes compressed into one file) that duplicates the original file and folder structure of an operating system. It often contains other files added by the OEM or corporation.

1)記憶媒体や記憶装置のある部分をそのままの形で他の場所や媒体にコピーしたもの.
2)主記憶装置に格納されている,その時のシステムの動作状態を指す.つまり,メモリレジスタやファイルなどの値や内容のこと.特にコアメモリ上にある場合,コアイメージと呼ぶ.
3)コンピュータグラフィックス(CG)で取り扱う,主に点で構成される絵や図形のこと.一般的には,一つの点(一つの画素)に1ビットを割り当てて,処理を行う.グラフィックディスプレイにマウスなどで入力する他に写真などを複写機やファックスから入力することができる.これらのデータをイメージデータと呼ぶ.
4)グラフィックディスプレイやイメージプリンタなどに出力された画像のこと.
