1. (obsolete) To give luster to; to make lustrous.
   • 1864, Robert Chambers, The Book of Days: A Miscellany of Popular Antiquities, page 42:

   • 1883, V. Lescribleur (pseud.), The great anti-crinoline league, page 73:

   • 1887, All the Year Round - Volume 39; Volume 59, page 79:
