We will look into electrical machinery and transportation equipment whose intra-industry trade has both been advancing. Let's assume that if differences of import and export prices between Japan and other East Asian countries are 1.25 times or less in their trade of electrical machinery and transportation equipment, such trade will be categorized as horizontal intra-industry trade 8. If price gaps are found to be more than 1.25 times, we will call it vertical intra-industry trade.
