From Hebrew בִּיבִּי (bibi), reduplication of a clipped form of בִּנְיָמִין (binyamín, “Benjamin”). The Jewish Telegraphic Agency reported that nickname was used to distinguish Benjamin Netanyahu from another homonymous older cousin.
