    As if from Latin trānslūceō (shine through; be translucent), but perhaps a back-formation from translucent (ultimately from the same Latin verb).

    1. (uncommon) To shine (light) through, and thus make (the thing which is shined through) translucent.
    2. (rare) To be translucent or transparent, to allow light to shine through.
