1. To make errors in the process of collecting.
   • 1924, United States. Congress. House. Committee on the Judiciary, To Provide for a Bureau of Prohibition in the Treasury Department, page 142:

     He is compelled to use the greatest care over it that he does not miscollect, fail to collect, or improperly or in any other way discharge his duty.

   • 1968, Lars Stenersen Semb, ‎Johannes Myren, The physiology of gastric secretion, page 592:

   • 1987, Review of the Electrical Communications Laboratories, Volume 35:
