From Anglo-Latin wargus, from 古期英語 warg, wearh, wearg (“outlaw, criminal”), from Proto-West Germanic *warg, from Proto-Germanic *wargaz (“criminal, wolfish individual”), from Proto-Indo-European *wer- (“to twist, bend, crook”).
