The term is used by /pol/ users to denote a famous person whose political views align with the userbase's right-leaning stances, though the term's usage isn't restricted to /pol/ and is also frequently used in non-political contexts on the site's many different boards. The feminine form /ourgirl/, while rarer, is also known to exist.
