語源

動詞
resignate (third-person singular simple present resignates, present participle resignating, simple past and past participle resignated)
- (intransitive, nonstandard, chiefly non-native speakers' English, rare) To resign.

2001 September 8, RMS-MarionS, “German Ferrero Ad”, in alt.fan.james-bond (Usenet), archived from the original on 7 July 2026:
-
The older spots were made around the sentence "Ich geb' mir die Kugel!" - "I give myself the [Kugel].", which intends a pun in this particular case. The word "Kugel" itself is used for a ball, usually made of hard material like a marble, a billiard or bowling ball and is quite right for a round chocolate. But in context with catching, getting it, or giving "the" ball to somebody or even to himself it means "bullet". So in the old spots a man got into a situation where he resignated and said, he would shoot himself. But he just asks for getting Ferrero Rocher.
