alt-left (uncountable)

1. (politics, derogatory) A political movement whose supporters hold extreme left-wing views and reject mainstream politics. It's a purported political faction espousing an extreme leftist ideology, or one espousing liberal ideology but using extreme, antiestablishment messaging.
