From Proto-Italic *walēō, from Proto-Indo-European *h₂wl̥h₁-éh₁ye-ti, from *h₂welh₁- (“to rule, be strong”).
valeō (present infinitive valēre, perfect active valuī, supine valitum); second conjugation
The supine valitum is more or less unused, but is listed by some grammars in order to illustrate the stem. Others list the future active participle, valitūrus, which is built on the same stem. Passive use is rarely attested.
