George Knight (born 12 May 1921) is an English former professional footballer who played as an inside forward. Despite being on the books at Burnley for nine years, he played just nine league games as his career was interrupted by the Second World War. He is the oldest former first team player still alive in 2010.He is still enjoying life and remains football crazy. He is currently being cared for by his family. His eldest daughter, Pauline, is the main carer and is being helped by close family and friends. George still lives in Bolton but is currently on 'holiday' with Pauline and family in Birmingham. George was still involved with football as a scout with Manchester United but retired in 2006 in order to care for his wife Winifred. George showed great love and devotion in difficult circumstances.
