Regarding real estate investment, or the REIT market, this market provides a new investment tool. A little more than a decade ago, when Japan was in a deepening recession, I talked with an official of a Hong Kong-based financial institution, who was a son of the family controlling a major Asian conglomerate and was a clear headed man with degrees from Stanford University and with whom I am still friends.
