1. (architecture) The space between two axes.
   • 1842, Joseph Gwilt, Encyclopaedia of Architecture:

     The doors, windows, niches, and the like, are then placed centrally in the interaxes.

   • 2002, Leonardo Benevolo, The Architecture of the Renaissance - Volume 1, page 72:
