語源 1
First attested in the 1610s. Probably from 中期英語 *titeren, *titren (attested in 中期英語 titering (“hesitation, vacillation”)), probably a frequentative of 中期英語 titten (“to waver”), related to Old Norse titra (“to shake, shiver, quiver”), dialectal Swedish tittra (“to snicker”).
