From 中期英語 cure, borrowed from Old French cure (“care, cure, healing, cure of souls”), from Latin cura (“care, medical attendance, cure”). Displaced native 古期英語 hǣlu, but this survived as heal.
From 中期英語 curen, from Old French curer, from Latin cūrāre. Partially displaced 古期英語 ġehǣlan, whence Modern English heal.
