「bone」は、動物の体を支える硬い組織を指す一般的な言葉である。人間の体の一部としての「骨」を指す場合や、食事の際に肉から取り除く「骨」を指す場合などに使用される。
「bone」は"break a bone(骨を折る)"、"bone marrow(骨髄)"、"bone density(骨密度)"などの表現と一緒に使われることが多い。
