It was decided that in May 2012, the three committees would be integrated into the IOSCO Board to streamline processes. Third, we will follow the lessons learned in the current global financial crisis. The first lesson is that we should quickly and accurately identify risks involved in the entire financial system. At the same time, we intend to strengthen cooperation with the Bank of Japan and overseas authorities. As for the second lesson, in addition to having experiences of dealing with a crisis, we are ahead of the United States and European countries in the development of institutional frameworks, including various safety net schemes and a supervisory framework that places various financial services under central supervision as a way to deal with systemic risks. We have also managed such frameworks appropriately. Meanwhile, the current global financial crisis has spread across various business sectors and is complicated in nature.
