「time」は最も一般的な「時」の英訳であり、具体的な時間や一般的な時間を指す場合に使用される。特定の瞬間や状況を指す場合には、他の訳語が適していることがある。
「spend time(時間を過ごす)」「waste time(時間を無駄にする)」「save time(時間を節約する)」など。

「hour」は具体的な時間単位を指す場合に使用される。「時」を抽象的に表現する際には「time」が適している。
「spend hours(何時間も過ごす)」「hourly(毎時)」「after hours(営業時間後)」など。

「moment」は特定の瞬間を指す場合に使用される。「時」を一般的な時間や時間単位で表現する際には「time」や「hour」が適している。
「at the moment(現在)」「for a moment(一瞬)」「moment of truth(真実の瞬間)」など。

「occasion」は特定の状況や出来事を指す場合に使用される。「時」を具体的な時間や瞬間で表現する際には「time」や「moment」が適している。
「on occasion(時折)」「special occasion(特別な機会)」「rise to the occasion(その場にふさわしく振る舞う)」など。
