From 中期英語 undōn, from 古期英語 ondōn, from Proto-West Germanic *andadōn (“to undo”), equivalent to un- +‎ do. Cognate with West Frisian ûndwaan, ûntdwaan (“to undo; rid”), Dutch ontdoen (“to undo”).
