At this initiative, discussions are being held with a view to the development of an investment environment in Japan and the US. In the course of discussions about Japan’s FDI environment, the US government raised concerns such as increasing ways for foreign companies to perform M&A in Japan and promoting foreign investment in education and medical services, which will become more important in the future as Japan faces a declining birthrate and aging population.
