According to questions and answers made in the Diet about 10 years ago, in addition to the three principles set forth by the Deposit Insurance Corporation, a condition was imposed whereby the two banks should repay an additional amount of funds. Probably, the repayment amount will be around 580 billion yen compared with the book value of 400 billion. Unless their stock prices, which are slumping at low levels now, rise to fairly high levels, repayment will be difficult.
